Stuttgart, September 23, 2024. From September 24 to 26, 2024, INTERGEO, the world's most important event for geodesy, geoinformation, and land management, will take place at Messe Stuttgart. The CONFERENCE and EXPO are the platform for the international geo-community, showcasing why geoinformation is indispensable in our modern world.
Opening and Highlights
The president of DVW e.V., Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Staiger, will open the conference on September 24 at 9:30 a.m. and looks forward to the upcoming days: "INTERGEO not only offers insights into the latest technologies but also provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas with international experts and make valuable contacts. For the geoinformation industry, INTERGEO 2024 is an absolute must – a place where groundbreaking lectures and innovative solutions take center stage."
Juliane Seifert, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community, will emphasize the importance of geoinformation for political and social decisions in her opening speech – especially with regard to global challenges such as climate change, urbanization, and resource security.
Keynotes and Focus Topics
A special highlight of the first day of the event is the keynote by Dr. Walther Pelzer, President of the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Under the title "Earth Observation for a Changing Earth – Global Monitoring and Local Action," he will shed light on the role of earth observation in combating climate change. Dr. Pelzer's keynote at INTERGEO 2024 is an essential contribution to the role of geodesy and geoinformation in global climate protection. His expertise and the activities of DLR highlight that earth observation is indispensable for climate protection, and that advanced space programs are creating the necessary infrastructure to successfully meet future climate change challenges.
Dr. Burkhard Boeckem, CTO of Hexagon AB, will also speak in his keynote on technological innovations. He predicts: When AI, digital twins, and precise geodata come together, a better world will emerge thanks to informed decisions and efficient processes.
Topics such as digital twins, earth observation, GIS, and BIM are at the center of further presentations in parallel conference sessions. Another focus is the cross-cutting use of artificial intelligence in almost all sessions, as well as the latest developments in engineering geodesy. Digitalization and trends in geoinformation management are also not neglected.
Expo: Innovations and Technologies
At the INTERGEO EXPO, around 600 exhibitors will present their latest products and solutions. Hexagon AB
will showcase a brand-new AI-based solution for the construction industry, revolutionizing the layout workflow. In addition to this innovation, Hexagon will also present its portfolio of intelligent cloud solutions: "These create unified data environments, connect the field with the office, and thus improve collaboration and productivity. We are looking forward to exchanging ideas with customers at INTERGEO," emphasizes Thomas Harring, President of Geosystems at Hexagon.
Autodesk's trade fair appearance focuses on the interplay between BIM (Building Information Modeling), GIS (Geoinformation Systems), and artificial intelligence, which are crucial for the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructures. "This year, special attention is also being paid to the topic of water management," emphasizes Ralf Mosler, Leader of BIM Transformation at Autodesk.
Trimble will also showcase innovations in the areas of GNSS, reality capture, and cloud-based solutions. Boris Skopljak from Trimble emphasizes: "Cloud technologies enable seamless connections between the field and the office."
Jürgen Schomakers, CEO of Esri Germany, emphasizes the central role of INTERGEO 2024 for the industry: "INTERGEO 2024 is an absolute must-attend event. Innovations and sustainable technologies serve as a mouthpiece for the industry toward a livable future. Especially in connection with BIM data, Esri demonstrates how sustainable planning, and the early consideration of environmental factors become possible."
Key Social Issues in Focus at the Event
In addition to technological innovations, key social issues will also be discussed. INTERGEO addresses topics such as climate protection through geoinformation technologies, urban planning and land development, and the energy transition. A special highlight is the BAU-AUF-Ukraine Forum on September 26, where the reconstruction of Ukraine in areas such as energy and infrastructure will be discussed.
Networking and Promoting Young Talent
INTERGEO 2024 offers numerous opportunities for networking. Specialist lectures and live demonstrations will take place on the EXPO STAGE on all three days. The Science and Geoinnovation Pitch allows young talents to present their innovative work. For professionals and young talents, INTERGEO is an invaluable opportunity to make contacts and learn about the latest trends and technologies.
INTERGEO City Night Stuttgart
On Tuesday, September 24, from 7:00 p.m., the organizer DVW e.V. invites the geo-community to the INTERGEO City Night at the Stuttgarter Ratskeller
for an evening of networking.
INTERGEO 2024 promises groundbreaking insights and innovations that will shape the future of geodesy and geoinformation. From practical lectures to groundbreaking technologies – the event is a must for professionals and experts in the industry.
